The Brief

When BuildHub first contacted us, we were immediately impressed by their mission. BuildHub is a brand that wants to bridge a significant gap in the American construction market: streamlining the process of contractors acquiring the materials they need simply, quickly, and efficiently to make their projects a solid reality. To achieve this goal, they needed to design a desktop app allowing contractors and suppliers to exchange service information, improving every aspect of construction project management.
How could our team help them achieve such an ambitious goal? Keep reading to find out.

The Challenge

Good UX design is the first step

Good UX design is the first step

Designing an intuitive platform requires careful consideration of both user experience and functionality. We needed to deeply understand the contractors' and suppliers' needs and motivations to develop the perfect UX journey for them.

To start with this challenge, our main goals were:

Work on a preliminary version of the logo aligned with the brand's personality.

Design a web app that allows contractors and suppliers to exchange service information. This app will provide a unified channel to contact suppliers, order necessary materials, pay, and track their delivery.

Design a user-friendly interface that is intuitive and easy to use.

We took everything we learned from our discovery & research process with the BuildHub team and translated it into actionable steps for our design process.

The Solution

The cornerstones of BuildHub: lite branding and web app design

The cornerstones of BuildHub: lite branding and web app design

We started by getting hands-on with the information architecture and wireframes for an MVP that would allow them to explore the product’s potential. Also, with a lite branding process and a web app UI.

This is how our process went:

Lite Branding

Logo

First, our Branding team worked on a basic logo for BuildHub to use as the basis for the future expansion of its visual identity system.

UI Style Guide

A guide with the basic UI components necessary to develop the product.

Web App design

Web App design

Wireframes

The next step was to create wireframes of what each page would look like.

Visual design

When that was done, our team could design a UI with a clean appearance that is easy to understand.

The process took place in record time thanks to BuildHub’s clarity and preparation, allowing us to go through the project’s phases rapidly and enjoy great communication between our teams.

The Results

Laying the foundation for the future

Laying the foundation for the future

In just 3 weeks, we got to work with the Buildhub team on this challenge. It presented an opportunity for us to create something special: a functional product that has become a cornerstone of BuildHub’s business model and will help them grow even more quickly.

At the end of this process, Buildhub went home with the following:

An unique logo, that sets the basis for the visual identity system when the brand launches in the market.

An UI Style Guide with the basic UI components necessary to develop the product.

A Web App design. Ready for development Figma files to build the MVP Web App and test with potential users.

With these deliverables in hand, BuildHub now has a strong foundation by providing a web app that could bridge a gap and help construction managers organize projects and logistics, simplify communication, and make supply lines more efficient.

We know that this is just the start of the road for BuildHub, and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.
